Shamelessly "inspired" by Abba's "Summer Night City", I didn't mean this to have any words at first. But like a lot of stuff I write, it suddenly started growing as though by its own volition. Beat to bassline to structure to song. I found a text-to-speech program, wrote some words in about half an hour and wonderfully some sort of magic/coincidence happened where the "dance dance dance dance dance" is enough in tune to make it seem deliberate. And the standalone "forever" has JUST the right inflection to make it sound like a statement - almost a challenge. Right? RIGHT?
This was going to be the last track on the album before I realised a song exhorting you to dance should really be nearer the beginning.
lyrics
a night like any other
you're sitting home alone
nobody's knocking at your door
nobody's on the phone
so dig out your old records
and dance on through the night
dissipate the darkness
and dance into the light
dance dance dance dance dance
this moment is forever
dance dance dance dance dance
this moment is forever
forever
it's easy to get down
and to feel a touch bereft
you've more good years behind you
than you possibly have left
so turn up to eleven
and dance the fear away
dance like no-one's waiting
dance like it's your final day
dance dance dance dance dance
this moment is forever
dance dance dance dance dance
this moment is forever
forever
