Was always going to be the first track. Was the first track I wrote for the album, before I knew I was making one.
The over-the-top, cheese-smeared audacity of the two breakdowns made me laugh so much making this. It's not quite a parody, though it's meant to ape those "hands in the air, wait for the beat to drop then go nuts making big fish little fish cardboard box gestures while gurning" we've all seen and probably all done when we were all so much younger and less tired.
It's epic, preposterous, and probably contains more clichés than is advisable or necessary, but it's supposed to make you laugh and dance your ass well and truly off.
Title is a pun - malediction is a fancy word for saying a rude word, which this track shamelessly does. (Working title for the track was "Cussing".) But it's a robot saying it, which makes it amusing and not rude at all.
